Finance Functional Analyst

Description:

Our client’s Finance function is currently undergoing a significant transformation by replacing various Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and other finance applications through the implementation of OneStream CPM. The programme encompasses Consolidation & Reporting, Tax Computation & Reporting, Finance Allocations, and Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting.

We are seeking enthusiastic, skilled, and proactive individuals to support this OneStream implementation journey. The Finance Functional Analyst (Finance Business Analyst) will play a key role in translating finance business requirements into functional specifications within OneStream CPM. This includes developing workflows, cube views, forms, and other core functionalities, while working closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Functional Analysis

• Review business change requests and assess their impact on the wider finance and technology landscape.
• Gather, document, and translate finance business requirements into OneStream technical specifications and solutions.
• Facilitate impact analysis of proposed changes and design appropriate solutions.
• Obtain approvals for changes and requirements from relevant stakeholders.
• Perform business, process & data analysis, solutions design, and data modelling.

OneStream Development & Configuration

• Configure and maintain OneStream workflows, cube views, forms, dashboards, metadata, security settings, journal templates, confirmation rules, certification questions, and transformation rules.
• Maintain dimensionality and hierarchies, ensuring proper alignment with finance reporting needs.
• Design, develop, and support new EPM solutions, while maintaining and troubleshooting existing solutions.

Testing & Support

• Perform and support unit, functional, SIT, performance, regression, and UAT testing.
• Provide 1st/2nd line support during testing cycles, including defect resolution.
• Perform root cause analysis and support defect resolution efforts.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

• Engage with finance and technical stakeholders to gather and validate requirements.
• Facilitate requirements gathering, solutioning, and end-user training sessions.
• Communicate effectively with business users, ensuring solutions align with finance processes and reporting needs.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

• Accounting or Finance qualification (e.g., CA or equivalent).
• Experience in Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) solutions (OneStream preferred).
• Business analysis experience in the finance landscape (financial services industry preferred).
• Strong understanding of finance processes (e.g., Consolidation, Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting, Tax, IFRS, Regulatory Reporting).
• Experience in finance technology implementation projects.
• 5+ years’ experience in business process and systems analysis, data analysis, solutions design, and testing.
• Proven experience in data modelling and translating finance business requirements into technical specifications.

Preferred:

• OneStream EPM experience (1–2 years preferred).
• Business Analysis qualification (e.g., FTI or equivalent).

Technical Skills

• Strong finance process knowledge, including Consolidation, Budgeting, Forecasting, and Tax reporting.
• Understanding of finance technology and data landscape.
• Experience with multi-dimensional data models and financial consolidation.
• Advanced Excel skills (macros, pivot tables, formulas).
• Experience designing and developing workflows, cube views, dashboards, metadata, and security settings in OneStream.
• Strong facilitation skills for requirements gathering, solutioning, and training.
