Your Role:We are on the lookout for a talented, motivated, and experienced Mid-Level Mechanical Design Engineer to be part of our dynamic mechanical engineering team! In this role, you will be responsible for the design of critical mechanical equipment for process plants. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, gaining invaluable exposure to industry standards and specifications while also mentoring less experienced engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
Fulfil the lead design engineer role for assigned projects. Â Mentor and assist younger design engineers. Â Design and develop mechanical equipment for process plants, including piping and pressure vessels. Â Engage in all phases of mechanical projects: planning, concept design, detailed design, manufacturing, quality control, installation, commissioning, and handover. Â Create detailed 3D concepts and models, reviewing process plant layouts for optimization. Â Accurately read and interpret process and instrumentation diagrams. Â Solve complex engineering problems using advanced analysis software. Â Review and ensure compliance of pressure equipment and piping fabrication packs. Â Prepare specifications for piping and valves and provide mechanical inputs for datasheets. Â Collaborate on multi-disciplinary projects to achieve effective design integration. Â Continuously expand your knowledge of industry-specific design standards and specifications. What Weâ??re Looking For: Essential Qualifications & Experience:
ð??? Bachelorâ??s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
ð??? Minimum of 3 to 7 yearsâ?? experience in mechanical and plant/structural design.
ð??» Proficiency in 3D design and engineering software such as Autodesk Inventor and Plant 3D.
ð??¬ Familiarity with piping and pressure vessel design software (e.g., CAEPIPE, CAESAR, PV-Elite) is a plus.
ð??? Knowledge of pressure equipment design codes (ASME, SANS, EN) and mechanical design principles.
