Description:
Key Responsibilities:
· Obtain and follow lawful and reasonable Instruction from CNC Programmers.
· Clean the machines.
· Fetch Raw Material and take it to the machine.
· De-burr Raw Material.
· Set up the job on the machines.
· Inspect the job.
· De-burr Blades if necessary.
· Move the job to the following department as per the Job Card.
· Operate the CNC and manual milling machines to produce precision components for industrial knives and blades.
· Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
· Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures and workpieces based on the Job Specifications.
· Set up the milling machines by installing and aligning tools, fixtures and workpieces.
· Report to the Programmer any issues with speeds and feeds that will affect tool life, surface finish, and size, so that the programmer can make adjustments.
· Perform test cuts and adjustments as necessary to ensure accuracy and adherence to specifications.
· Inspect and measure finished components using precision instruments, such as, callipers, micrometres, and gauges.
· Perform Routine Maintenance and cleaning of machines.
· Identify and report and defects, discrepancies, or maintenance needs to the Production Process Engineer.
· Ensure Compliance with all Health and Safety Procedures.
Requirements:
Qualifications
· Matric or Equivalent.
· Artisan qualification would be highly advantageous.
Experience:
• 3 – 5 years of Milling Machine Operator and Setter experience.
Requirements:
· South African ID.
· Reside on the East Rand.
· Ability to travel to & from work on own accord.
