Description:
Hire Resolve's client, a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with a strong presence in municipal infrastructure development, is currently seeking a highly skilled Assistant Resident Engineer to join their team in Gqeberha. Responsibilities

Oversee site supervision and construction monitoring of municipal services projects (roads, stormwater, sewer, and water reticulation).

Conduct regular site inspections and ensure compliance with engineering standards and specifications.

Coordinate and liaise with contractors, local authorities, and other stakeholders.

Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
-
Apply FIDIC contract conditions throughout the project lifecycle.

Review and interpret technical drawings and ensure accurate implementation on site.
-
Assist with resolving design and construction issues.
-
Compile site reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
Requirements

National Diploma or BTech/BSc/BEng in Civil Engineering.
-
3–6 years of experience in civil infrastructure projects.
-
Proven design and site supervision experience across both roadworks and water/sewer/stormwater projects.
-
Experience with FIDIC contracts is essential.
-
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and SANS standards.
-
Proficiency in design software (e.g., Civil 3D, AutoCAD).
-
Registration with ECSA as a Candidate or Professional Engineering Technologist/Engineer will be advantageous.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
