We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Maintenance and Health & Safety (H&S) Manager to join our client’s team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the effective management of building maintenance programmes and compliance with health and safety regulations across their premises. This position is based in Stellenbosch.
Responsibilities1. Maintenance | Buildings and Premises
Manage building maintenance programmes. Oversee the progress and inspection duties of the maintenance team. Plan and manage projects, including supervising contractors’ activities and work. Handle daily operations and assist in resolving challenges. Obtain quotations and process invoice payments. Collect and review Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Manage municipal accounts. Plan and prepare the annual budget. Provide monthly maintenance reports to senior management.2. Health & Safety (H&S)
Maintain and administer safety policies and procedures. Manage and update the H&S System for all premises. Handle COIDA registrations. Conduct and assist with risk assessments of buildings and premises. Investigate incidents and accidents. Manage annual H&S audits. Deliver H&S inductions to new staff. Prepare for H&S committee meetings. Serve on the COVID-19 committee. Plan and prepare the annual H&S budget.Key Skills
Excellent project management skills. Excellent administrative and time-management skills. Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail. Dynamic and proactive with a willingness to take initiative. Ability to work independently. Proficient in MS Office. Team player.Experience and Qualifications
A relevant qualification will be advantageous. Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a similar role.
