Description:
Duties and responsibilities:ÂWater Loss Assessment:
Conduct comprehensive audits of our system to identify areas of water loss. Utilise advanced leak detection technologies and methodologies to pinpoint sources of water loss. Analyse water usage data to detect patterns and anomalies indicative of leaks or inefficiencies.Strategy Development and Implementation:
Develop and implement strategies to reduce water loss, including infrastructure improvements and operational changes. Coordinate with engineering teams to design and execute water loss control projects. Monitor the effectiveness of implemented strategies and make necessary adjustments. Introduce AI and automation to reduce losses. Ensure all hardware and monitoring devices including meters and remote monitoring units are operational, maintained, programmed correctly and are the best and latest suitable equipment for the application and/or site. Plan, provide, implement and monitor budgets related to water loss.Field Inspections and Monitoring:
Perform regular field inspections to ensure the integrity of the water distribution system. Use specialized equipment and services to detect and locate leaks in the system. Monitor water flow and pressure to identify potential issues.Data Analysis and Reporting:
Collect and analyse data related to water loss and system performance. Prepare detailed reports and presentations. Provide recommendations based on data analysis to improve system efficiency. Analyse and action meter aging, replacement, and gains/payback reports. Monthly Bulk readings & Data capturing.Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with other service providers, engineers, and other departments to coordinate water loss reduction efforts. Engage with the community to raise awareness about water conservation and loss prevention. Participate in meetings and committees to discuss water management strategies.Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all bylaws, provincial and national laws related to water management. Ensure compliance to SANS standards related to the designs for water systems to include water loss in bulk and link. Stay updated on new regulations and best practices in water loss control. Provide guidance on regulatory requirements to ensure adherence. Requirements:Â
Bachelorâ??s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Water Resources Management, or a related field. A valid code 8 driversâ?? license is essential. Minimum of 3-5 years in water loss control, leak detection, or related field. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in using leak detection technologie
