Description:

  • Identify and evaluate venture investment opportunities by delivering both quantitative and qualitative analysis, including financial models and scenario analysis, to estimate potential value, recommend investment opportunities, and gain consensus on investment theses and opportunities that align with the Fund mandate and strategic priorities.
  • Support the negotiation of investment terms, strategic partnerships, and pilot agreements, including drafting term sheets and reviewing long-form agreements to structure and close venture investments.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clearly communicate in-depth market research and financial analysis to senior stakeholders and the investment committee.
  • Work independently with attention to detail and sensitivity to deadlines. Lead individual workstreams and contribute to the management team.
  • Create investment recommendation presentations and memoranda for executive stakeholders and the investment committee.
  • Contribute to the strategy and operations of a maturing venture investing function.
  • Coach less experienced crew in research, analysis, investment thesis generation, financial modeling and valuation, and investment methodologies and frameworks based on deep knowledge of emerging trends and industry standards.
  • Exhibit strong conceptual thinking and time management, as well as analytical problem solving, investment acumen, negotiation experience, and persuasion skills.
  • Attend management meetings, investor meetings, conferences, and industry events, as required.
  • Manage prospective investment pitch sessions and pitches.
  • Manage, develop, and maintain relationships at universities to ensure close alignment and collaboration to drive entrepreneurship, commercialisation, and continued deal flow from universities and their alumni.
  • Maintain great relationships with entrepreneurs, other venture capital funds, accelerators, incubators, and investors. Attend conferences, pitch events, etc. to scout prospective portfolio companies, meet investors, and grow the network.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties, as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three to five years of related work experience. At least two years of experience in venture capital, private equity, corporate development, investment banking, or similar fields. Prior investing or M&A experience is required.
  • Familiarity with Excel-based financial modelling, valuations, and analytical tools.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills.
  • Team player with exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proven capacity to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
  • Demonstrated passion for finance, capital markets, and emerging business trends.
  • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and grow in high-performance teams.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with clients at all levels.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
