Plant Engineer required for a mine in the Brits area. Qualifications and experience:- Grade 12
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- GCC Mines and Works
- Registered with ECSA would be an advantage
- 3 - 5 Years’ experience as a Plant Engineer
- No criminal record
- Must have own transport and a valid driver’s license
- Good general health and a certificate of fitness (Red Ticket)
- This is a D - Upper position in the Engineering department reporting to the Engineering Manager.
- Contributes to the development of the strategic mine plans and strategy.
- Develops, implements, and monitors engineering maintenance, risk and operational strategies and plans.
- Provides and oversees engineering services, infrastructure and equipment availability are adequate and maintained to meet operational goals.
- Leads and manages resources to deliver production targets and projects as required.
- Ensures compliance with all legal, environmental, occupational health and safety and risk management standards and best practices.
- Establishes and maintains strong relationships with relevant stakeholders
- Manages implements and contributes to continuous improvement and asset optimization initiatives and projects for engineering processes.
- Analysing problems or deficiencies and developing solutions to resolve them.
- Ensuring that products meet compliance with regulations.
- Organize, install and operate the mechanical equipment and systems at the mine site
- Supervise contractors, negotiate changes, control quality, measure work done, approve and accept works
- Lead or work on a team to ensure projects are completed on time and budget
- Play a leading role in ensuring safety, improving operational efficiency and quality, controlling production costs and minimizing effects on the environment
- Work cooperatively with other departments, engineering disciplines, project managers, supply chain and management to optimize production, reduce costs, solve problems and meet deadlines
- Make sure quality and safety standards are adhered to and integrated into the design
- Define subordinates’ accountabilities.
- Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving problems
- Leads teams in the development of new products, solutions, and processes.
- Oversees project logistics and resource allocation.
- Strives to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs, and to reduce waste.
- Assures that processes meet quality and safety compliance guidelines.
