Description:

Korridor an exciting SAAS FinTech with a Fuel operation is looking an accountant (Reporting into the regional FM) to run the accounting records of 2 to3 Fuel Operations. Including Standard costing and inventory for 9 Fuel depots in Zambia, Zimbabwe and Namibia. The role is based at the head office in centurion.

The purpose of the role will be to the finance function from source entries to Trial Balance for various African entities under the supervision of the financial manager.

The role will oversee the financial control, ensuring all accounting entries are booked correctly in the General Ledger. as well as all reconciliations between financial, operational, intercompany and external financial information are performed on time.

Responsibilities

  • Be a partner to the business
  • Full responsible for ensuring accurate financial record keeping
  • Responsible to ensure accurate reconciliations between operational and accounting systems and balance sheet reconciliations for all accounts at Month End.
  • Responsible for Inventory costing in the GL and standard costing
  • Cost Accounting for Fuel Depots
  • Supporting the year-end, interim and all month-end processes and reporting
  • Responsible for supporting FM during the external audit process
  • Provide feedback and address audit points
  • Ensure applicable policies and processes are created, documented, reviewed, signed off and adhered to
  • Developing strategies to minimize financial risk
  • Responsible for providing direction and support on the organisational budgeting process applicable to all the entities of Korridor
  • Regularly review the overall organisational expenditure to ensure the expenditure of all entities remain within budget and liaise with area managers where overspending took place.
  • Report on and resolve exceptions caused by system errors
  • Action requests from the FM as requested
  • Support FM with team training and skill development.
  • Resolve queries from team members and business partners across all entities
  • Ensure intercompany loan accounts balance and resolve any differences
  • Provisional tax planning and payments - in conjunction with tax team
  • Support FP & A with variance analysis and deep dives
  • Monthly management report commentary
  • Assist FM in payment approval requests from treasury department
  • Jira ticket task completion - Check accuracy and completeness of work performed.
  • Assist FM in ensuring that all monthly tasks are created and allocated correctly to team members
  • Prepare VAT submissions of local entity and support with monthly vat reconciliations and actively resolve any differences.

Requirements & Skills:

● BCom Accounting Degree or equivalent

● Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position if qualified or 8-10 years if not qualified

● Previous experience in Inventory, BOM’s cost buildups will be advantageous

● Good understanding of financial, tax and operations across multiple African territories

● Experience in Accounting Software and Payroll Software

● Advanced MS Excel skills
