Job Title: Traffic Manager
Location: Durban, South Africa
Salary: R40,000 per month

A leading organisation in the professional sports and entertainment sector is seeking a dynamic Traffic Manager to join its in-house creative team. This role is vital to ensuring that all creative and content projects are delivered on time, on brief, and with operational excellence.

The successful candidate will coordinate workflow across departments, manage project timelines and resources, and act as the communication hub for all internal stakeholders. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of creative, content, and social media projects.
  • Define and manage production schedules and workflows.
  • Maintain project tracking tools (e.g. Asana, Notion, Monday.com).
  • Handle new project intakes and ensure clarity on briefs, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Balance speed with quality across all creative outputs.
  • Allocate resources across creative teams (design, video, social, copy).
  • Anticipate capacity issues and offer proactive solutions.
  • Act as the central point of contact for project coordination and task clarity.
  • Adapt workflows to match urgent needs such as events, live content, or last-minute changes.
  • Liaise between creative teams and departments such as marketing, commercial, and brand.
  • Manage expectations and communicate progress or challenges.
  • Lead status meetings, WIPs, and stand-ups to keep all stakeholders aligned.
  • Report regularly on project pipeline, progress, and potential risks.
  • Continuously improve systems, tools, and processes for better team efficiency.
  • Support the implementation of workflow software and file management systems.
  • Monitor performance metrics (turnaround time, completion rates) to identify improvement areas.
  • Ensure assets are delivered on time for digital platforms, partners, or external use

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a traffic, project, or operations role within a creative or content team.
  • Strong project management and resource coordination skills.
  • Understanding of digital and social media content production workflows.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across departments.
  • Experience with tools such as Asana, Monday.com, Airtable, or similar.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a fast-paced, event-driven or sports-focused environment.
  • Understanding of live content demands and branded content cycles.
  • Comfort working across time zones and distributed teams.
  • Familiarity with sponsor-related deliverables and timelines.
