Description:
Core Overview:Responsible for all financial procedures including the preparation of accounts, financial planning (forecasting and budgeting), reporting of budget variances and cost control.
Communicating financial results to management on a monthly basis to enable the appraisal of the company’s actual performance against targets.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the accounting function for the areas of responsibility to ensure a true and fair reflection of financial performance
Accountable for all financial and performance reporting, compliance with Groups accounting policies and international financial reporting standards (IFRS)
Responsible for co-ordinating the statutory audit, preparing the audit file and approving annual financial statements, addressing audit queries and maintaining relationship with company auditors
Preparing annual financial budget and budget presentation
Analyse operation’s performance versus budget and forecasts and communicate variances to the Managing Director
Preparation, reporting and analyses of income, expense and balance sheet forecasts to head office on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
Management of the reporting process and adhering to Group timelines
Checking income tax computations and returns, provisional tax payments and submissions, preparing monthly VAT submissions and responding to SARS queries
Preparation and submission of all local statutory returns
Overseeing financial and internal controls in the business
Responsible to oversee stock management including stock purchases and logistics, stock obsolescence, stock counts and write-offs
Cash flow management
Develop, implement, and maintain financial and internal control policies and procedures to ensure the protection of company assets.
Implement and ensure cost saving initiatives and monitor spend.
Financial risk management with the main focus on foreign exchange risk
Checking and approving of all vendors payments and authorisation of batches of EFTs
Review of bad debt write-off
Payroll and HR
Supervision, coaching and performance managing finance staff
Work closely with other departments, providing financial insights, and supporting business decisions
Requirements:
Minimum BCom Honours in AccountingCompleted SAICA or SAIPA articles – desirable
CIMA - desirable
Strong understanding of manufacturing and analysis
Senior Management experience is essential - finance and HR
SAP experience
