Salary: R 18 000.00 – R 23 000.00
Hire Resolves client is seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Manager to lead content planning, publishing, and optimisation across multiple social media platforms. The ideal candidate is passionate about sport, digital culture, and audience engagement and thrives in a fast-paced, high-output environment.
You will play a key role in growing online presence, driving fan interaction, and maintaining a culturally relevant and consistent brand voice across all digital touchpoints. This includes overseeing live event coverage, campaign storytelling, and player-focused content initiatives
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day publishing and content output across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, etc.).
- Lead real-time content coverage for live events, match days, and behind-the-scenes moments.
- Schedule and monitor posts using tools such as Emplifi, Sprout Social, or native platforms.
- Ensure brand consistency through a tailored tone of voice per platform.
- Develop and implement weekly/monthly content calendars in collaboration with the Head of Social.
- Partner with creative, video, and marketing teams to produce engaging, platform-specific content.
- Align content output with overall marketing strategies and commercial campaigns.
- Own social media execution during live matchdays and events, both home and away.
- Collaborate with production teams to deliver live and near-live content efficiently.
- Deliver real-time coverage that informs, entertains, and engages the audience.
- Contribute to player-focused storytelling that builds public profiles and showcases personalities.
- Capitalise on trending moments and cultural relevance to drive organic engagement.
- Support collaboration with athlete content teams on co-branded opportunities.
- Manage fan interaction daily by responding to comments and encouraging conversations.
- Curate and amplify user-generated content and fan stories.
- Work with CRM and ticketing teams on targeted campaign engagement.
- Track and report on performance metrics such as views, engagement, sentiment, and conversion.
- Use insights to refine content strategy and test new formats.
- Stay updated with evolving platform trends and recommend innovations accordingly.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field.
- 2–4 years of hands-on social media management experience.
- Solid understanding of social media trends, mechanics, and best practices.
- Proven ability in live event coverage and storytelling through copy and visuals.
- Familiarity with tools like Emplifi, CrowdTangle, and native insights platforms.
- Passion for sports, digital culture, and online community building.
Desirable:
- Experience in rugby or elite-level sport environments.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or mobile content editing tools.
- Understanding of fan personas, club culture, and player marketing.
- Experience working with athletes or public figures.
