Vacancy: Manufacturing Supply Chain Manager
Location: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal
Salary: R30,000 – R60,000 per month (depending on experience)

Hire Resolves client is seeking a Manufacturing Supply Chain Manager to join their manufacturing division. You will play a pivotal role in leading and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain, ensuring timely procurement, production scheduling, and delivery of goods. Reporting to the Manufacturing Plant Manager, you will lead a dedicated team and collaborate cross-functionally to drive results and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage production schedules aligned with demand and inventory levels.
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure material readiness and avoid delays.
- Use scheduling tools to reduce bottlenecks and improve throughput.
- Track performance and adjust schedules to meet changing priorities.Oversee procurement of raw materials and components to meet production needs.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery terms with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve procurement-related issues.
- Continuously identify and evaluate alternative suppliers and materials.
- Manage raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventory.
- Use inventory systems to track stock levels, turnover, and reordering.
- Implement JIT, Kanban, and visual inventory control systems.
- Lead inventory audits and reconcile stock discrepancies.
- Minimize obsolete and slow-moving stock.
- Liaise with manufacturing, projects, and export teams to align operations.
- Provide clear and concise reporting on stock levels, production progress, and supply chain performance.
- Act as the main point of contact for resolving material or scheduling issues.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce costs.
- Develop risk mitigation plans for supply chain disruptions.
- Lead initiatives that improve efficiency without compromising quality.
- Stay current with industry trends and engage in relevant training.
- Track and report on KPIs such as on-time delivery, inventory turnover, and production adherence.
- Use data analytics to improve forecasting and procurement decisions.
- Provide insightful reports to support management decision-making.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Alternatively, significant proven experience in a similar role.
- Minimum 5 years’ managerial experience in a manufacturing supply chain role.
- Strong background in production planning, procurement, and inventory control.
- Proficiency with SYSPRO or similar ERP/MRP/MES systems is essential.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Effective communicator with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficient in ERP systems and inventory management tools.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management capabilities.
- Able to thrive in a changing environment with shifting priorities.
