Job Title: Garden Centre Assistant

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking mature guy to join our team as a Garden Centre Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting customers, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the garden centre, and performing various tasks related to plant care and landscaping.
Key Responsibilities:
– Greet and assist customers in a friendly and knowledgeable manner
– Provide information and recommendations on gardening products and services
– Water plants, trim hedges, and perform other tasks to maintain the overall appearance of the garden centre
– Unload and organize incoming plant shipments
– Keep track of inventory and reorder supplies as needed
– Assist with setting up displays and promotional materials
– Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
Qualifications:
– Previous experience in a garden centre setting is preferred
– Knowledge of plants, gardening techniques, and landscaping principles
– Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Physical ability to lift and carry heavy objects and perform tasks that require bending and kneeling
– Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
Compensation:
– Basic wage R28.79 per hour Monday to Friday
