Description:
As the Senior Accountant , you will work closely with the Finance & Logistics Manager, ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making are top priorities. Your expertise will be essential in optimizing financial processes, managing key accounts, and contributing to long-term business success.
What you'll do
- Assist in the preparation, analysis, and completion of financial statements
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register
- Implement process improvements
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Support external processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations
- Submitting statutory returns / information (CIPC)
- Assist with costings and margin analysis
- Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable functions as required
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve financial processes and reporting
- Support the finance team with ad hoc financial projects and reporting requirements
- Ensure adherence to company financial policies and procedures
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency
- Taxation
- Monthly VAT returns
- Assist in completion of annual corporation tax returns
- Budgets and forecasts
- Assist in preparation of the annual budget of specific GL lines in the business, i.e. motor vehicle expenses
- Assist in preparing quarterly forecasts
- Annual audit
- Assist in preparation of group consolidated AFS (CASEWARE). Certain disclosures
- Assist in preparation of tax computation
- Other group reporting
- Annual ESG reporting
- Annual supplier spends reporting (LkG)
Requirements:

- Vat Returns: 5 to 6 years
- Audit: 5 to 6 years
- Accounting Software: 5 to 6 years
- Tax Accounting: 5 to 6 years
- BCom Accounting degree is required
- Proven experience in assisting with the completion of financial statements
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
- Previous experience in VAT and tax compliance is advantageous
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
