A well established comapny is looking for a dynamic individual with experience in imports/exports, costings and solid bookkeeping understanding.
The role entails, placing orders with suppliers, tracking production and sharing the information and updates with imports manager and sales team.
Costing of imported goods and capturing the GRN onto pastel.
Aquiring clearing and transport estimates from clearing agents and transporters in order to quote customers and update stock values ect.
They will work very closely with the imports manager, this is an excellent role for someone wanting to establish themselves in a company, as there potential for career growth.
examples of tasks and responsibilities are:
Acquiring clearing estimates - request estimate from clearing agents for goods landing in South Africa, taking HS codes & relevant duties applicable into account.
Costing of goods - calculate cost price of imported goods landed in SA taking into consideration the ROE & clearing estimate to obtain cost price per unit as well as how delivery will take place & all relevant costs accounted for
Placing orders – sending purchase orders to overseas suppliers via Pastel, as well as keeping track of the order process working closely with the imports controller and manager.
Order production date management - track orders with overseas suppliers with regards to production dates.
Price verification - Check price on commercial invoices match the proforma invoices/sales orders or agreed upon pricing as well as confirming product & specifications are correct.
Import schedules - Assign internal references to new orders & update production dates on relevant excel sheets. Working closely with the imports team.
Shipping docs - check shipping docs have been received, after relevant checks on pricing & specs pass onto imports team for clearing process.
Capturing of stock - check final clearing invoice from agents, calculate cost price combining forex, commercial invoice from supplier & clearing invoice, present to Imports Manager for approval.
Updating of replacement cost for price list - Request estimates for price lists from clearing agents, ensuring HS codes are correct & relevant customs duties accounted for, fill in estimate amounts on price lists, present to Imports Manager for approval.
Requirements:
- Bookkeeping: 4 to 5 years
- Costing: 4 to 5 years
- Import Logistics: 4 to 5 years
- advanced excel knowledge
- Experience working on Pastel or other accounting software programs
- well spoken individual who can communicate with suppliers as well as co workers
Experience in imports (sea freight in particular) will be advantageous
in depth experience of costing stock and a sound knowledge of good bookkeeping practices. A degree or diploma in bookkeeping.
Must be highly organised and task driven, with the ability to problem sovle and communicate within the team.
