Description:
PURPOSE OF ROLE
We are seeking a skilled Multi-disciplinary Draughtsman to provide essential support to our Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for drafting engineering drawings and ensuring consistent checking of drawings and data. You will produce quality technical outputs that satisfy all client requirements and applicable standards by applying internal processes and industry best practices.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Proposals/Development : Participate in proposal teams, assist with scope development, provide input to piping/mechanical effort estimations, and contribute to project scheduling.
- Design Development : Create detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings using Autodesk AEC Collection software, develop 3D Models, P&IDs and PFDs to engineer's instructions, and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards.
- Technical Documentation : Produce accurate fabrication, construction, installation, and assembly drawings. Translate engineering concepts into comprehensive technical drawings.
- Implementation Support : Provide guidance on models/routing, make drawing changes as needed, and offer support during installation with site presence when required.
- Change Management : Effectively manage design modifications based on site measurements, material specifications, and client requirements.
- Process Compliance : Adhere to drawing office procedures and support the mechanical engineering team while maintaining quality and technical standards.
QUALIFICATION
- Minimum National Diploma in a relevant engineering qualification from an accredited university OR
- Minimum National Certificate level 4 in a relevant draughting qualification from an accredited college
EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years of experience as a Multi-discipline Draughtsperson in an engineering and construction environment
COMPETENCIES
Knowledge
- Excellent draughting skills and practical knowledge of construction
- Expert knowledge of plant layout and piping design
- Excellent understanding of output drawings (PFD's, P&IDs, isometrics, GA's, sections, mechanical drawings)
- Working knowledge of Health & Safety Act, ISO 14001 and 18001
- Good understanding of relevant industries/plant areas
- Working knowledge of applicable standards and engineering procedures
Skills
- Proficiency in Autodesk AEC Collection software (Advanced Steel, Revit, Plant 3D, Inventor)
- Experience with 3D modelling software
- Computer literacy (MS Office suite)
- Clear communication skills (written and verbal)
- Administrative and organizational abilities
- Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications
