Description:

A well-established foundry based in Phoenix Industrial Park , is currently seeking a qualified and experienced QC Inspector with a strong working knowledge of the foundry industry.

Basic: R125/Hour - R21,000 – R25,000 based on experience + Benefits

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed inspections of casting components to ensure compliance with specifications and industry quality standards.
  • Perform fettling inspections and ensure the proper execution of quality control procedures.
  • Utilise measuring instruments and visual inspection techniques to verify dimensions, shapes, and surface finishes of castings.
  • Identify and assess defects such as cracks, porosity, shrinkage, and other imperfections that could affect product quality.
  • Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot quality issues and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Maintain comprehensive quality records to ensure traceability and accountability.
  • Analyze quality-related data to identify trends, recurring issues, and significant problems.
  • Oversee the calibration, maintenance, and renewal of all measuring instruments and test equipment, in accordance with scheduled plans.
  • Ensure full adherence to the documented, approved, and issued quality management system (QMS).
  • Accurately record and monitor heat treatment processes.

Qualifications

  • A relevant foundry trade qualification (Moulding, Metallurgy, Pattern Making, etc.)
  • N3 Engineering Drawing certification
  • ISO 9001, 140001 and 450001 or similar quality management system certification

Experience

  • Proven QC experience within the foundry industry.
  • Machining experience.
