Description:
As the Head of Procurement, you will manage the procurement department to ensure that the right products and stock are available at the right time, price and branch. This role reports directly to the Managing Director.Key Duties Include:
- Management of buying and procurement staff and departments
- Ensure the effective delivery of procurement plans
- Set performance targets for the procurement department
- Manage and strengthen the strategic procurement plan and execute strategic partnerships with stakeholders
- Analyse stock trends and stock turnover
- Evaluate supplier performance and implement improvements or changes
- Suggest import stock for branches
- Manage procurement processes for effective stock holding
- Resolve stock shortage issues
- Ensure compliance with ISO and B-BBEE as well as legislative compliance, and assist Auditors as required
- Identify cost-saving opportunities
- Stock management
Education Requirements:
- Completed Matric (Grade 12)
Job Requirements and Skills:
7 to 8 years' experience within a senior procurement role 5 to 6 years management experience essential Experience within electrical, alternative energy or industrial industries essential Strong imports experience and knowledge essential Strong MS Excel skills Kerridge or K8, or similar industry system experience Deadline driven Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Team player
