Position: Support Coordinator: Student Affairs
Location: Wellington, Main Campus
Reports to: The Rector
Huguenot College, a private higher education institution in Wellington, offers post-school training in Social Work, Theology and Church Ministry, and Social Innovation. The College is inviting applications for a Support Coordinator: Student Affairs.
Job Summary:
The Student Support Coordinator ensures that students receive holistic support to enjoy a fulfilling, successful learning experience. Responsibilities include academic assistance, mentorship, wellness support, and administrative guidance.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement student support programmes (academic, wellness, mentorship).

Identify and support students at risk, working with lecturers and counsellors.

Facilitate access to counselling and psychosocial services.

Coordinate orientation and workshops (adjustment, time management, study skills).
-
Monitor student progress through surveys and feedback tools.
-
Assist with registration, financial aid, and academic appeals.
-
Build collaboration with academic staff and external service providers.
-
Organise student engagement activities (events, forums, leadership).
-
Maintain accurate records of support provided; report to management.

Evaluate support services and suggest improvements.
Core Areas:

Support Services Strategy: Design and monitor integrated support programmes.

Early Intervention: Develop tools to identify and assist students in need.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal staff and external providers.

Student Orientation: Lead sessions and skills development opportunities.

Monitoring: Track academic and emotional progress; offer tailored support.

Student Engagement: Foster a sense of belonging and inclusion.

Admin & Reporting: Keep detailed records; report to committees and leadership.

Inclusive Support Culture: Ensure accessible, sensitive support to all students.
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s in Social Work, Master’s in Counselling Psychology, MTh in Clinical Pastoral Care, or Youth Work.

Counselling and interpersonal skills.

Understanding of HR processes.

Computer literacy (MS Office).

Advantageous: Experience in mentorship and wellness initiatives.

Available after hours if needed.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years in student or staff support roles.Start Date:
