Description:
Our client, a globally recognised manufacturer and supplier of specialised products for the road construction and surfacing industry, is seeking to appoint a highly qualified and experienced Operations Manager to oversee their regional operations in Johannesburg. This is a newly established position, and preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated expertise in continuous improvement, export supply of hazardous chemical materials (Hazchem), and a background within the road construction or surfacing materials sector. KEY REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:- A tertiary qualification in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a relevant field, supported by a minimum of 10 years’ experience in operational leadership, process optimization, and national and international product distribution (including exports).
- Proven ability to manage operational budgets, implement continuous improvement strategies, and maintain efficient supply chains in high-pressure, service-driven environments.
- Strong business acumen and natural leadership capabilities, with a sound understanding of Hazchem compliance, storage, and distribution protocols.
- A solid track record in supplier relationship management, import/export procedures, and third-party logistics coordination.
- A valid driver’s licence, access to a reliable vehicle, and a clear credit and criminal record are essential.
