Description:
Role:As a Senior Programme Manager, youll be responsible for overseeing end-to-end delivery of strategic programmes across multiple projects. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, senior stakeholders, and delivery partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and aligned with organisational goals.
Duties:
1. Monitor & control
Develop a project plan to monitor and track progress Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques Track programme metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), analysing data to evaluate programme effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Conduct programme reviews, lessons learned sessions, and post- implementation assessments to capture insights and best practices. Resolve conflicts, challenges, and barriers to progress within the programme and across projects. Monitor program performance, project dependencies, budgets, risks, and issues to ensure benefits realisation. Take proactive measures to mitigate potential challenges. Manage cross-functional teams, stakeholder engagement, and governance across projects.
2. Planning
Define programme objectives, scope, and deliverables in alignment with organizational strategy and goals. Develop comprehensive programme plans, schedules, budgets and maintain project documentation Identify and prioritise projects within the programme portfolio based on strategic importance and resource constraints. Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, providing guidance, direction, and support as needed. Foster collaboration and communication among project teams, ensuring integration and coherence across projects.
3. Project Implementation
Ensure the successful delivery of projects while adhering to Eskoms governance processes. Comply with Eskoms procurement process for acquiring any required resources outside the organisation. Confirm specific projects upon the appointment of the vendor. Perform risk management to minimise project risks by maintaining a comprehensive risk register and issue list. Manage stakeholder relationships and expectations, ensuring alignment with programme objectives and priorities.
4. Reporting
Report to the relevant Governance structure including: Completing weekly flash repor Prepare submission to project Steering Committees etc. Prepare monthly forecasts Prepare monthly reports Communicate programme status, updates, and issues to stakeholders,
