Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and results-driven Junior Attorney to join our Germiston office. The ideal candidate will be an admitted legal practitioner with 2–3 years of post-admission experience, particularly within the areas of Municipal Debt Recoveries, Civil and Commercial Litigation, and Municipal Litigation. This role requires a proactive individual who can handle pressure, manage multiple matters independently, and deliver work aligned with our service level agreements and legal milestones.
Key Requirements:
Admitted Attorney with 2–3 years’ post-admission legal practice experience.
Computer literate with strong working knowledge of legal software and Microsoft Office.
Proven experience in Municipal Debt Legal Recoveries.
In-depth understanding of the National Credit Act.
Solid experience in General Civil and Commercial Litigation, including Magistrates Court and High Court procedures.
Strong understanding of Municipal Litigation processes, including:
Section 129 Notices
Drafting and Issuing Summons
Applying for Default Judgments
Execution processes (Warrant of Execution, Attachments, etc.)
Awareness and appreciation of key milestones and SLA compliance.
Must be hardworking, reliable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
