4 Star Boutique Guest house with 30 rooms in Camps Bay is seeking a passionate and experienced Duty Manager to become part of their close-knit team. Nestled in a serene, picturesque setting, the guesthouse offers a peaceful escape for travelers who value personalized service, comfort, and attention to detail.
In this key role, you’ll be actively involved in the daily running of the property, with a particular focus Front office service while enhancing the guest experience. We're looking for someone who thrives in a refined, guest-focused environment and brings a hands-on, service-driven approach to leadership—someone who understands how to turn a great stay into a memorable one.
Requirements:
Minimum Requirements
- South African ID or valid work permit
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
- Hospitality qualification (preferred)
- Well-groomed and presented
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Ability to work shifts, including weekends and holidays special requests
- Employment Track records with references
2. Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Duty Manager or similar role at a 4- or 5-star establishment
- Experience and understanding of reservation process including OTA channels
- In-depth knowledge of Front Office , Reservations & Accommodation operations
- Proficient in hotel systems (e.gHotelier, Nightsbridge, OTAs)
- Strong guest relations and complaint resolution skills
- Experienced & capable of overseeing hotel departments during shifts (Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, Security) including arrivals, special requests, and emergency situations professionally
- Skilled in team supervision: enforcing standards, coaching staff, and ensuring service excellence
- Experience with stock control, Reservations and basic administrative dutie
- A bility to maintain a professional working relationship with all departments and across cultures and religions;
3. Key Responsibilities
- Act as Senior Manager on Duty, ensuring smooth hotel operations during assigned shifts
- Ensure all guest-facing teams uphold 5-star service standards and grooming policies
- Handle guest feedback, complaints, and special requests effectively
- Oversee room assignments, reservations, and occupancy changes
- Conduct hotel walkthroughs to maintain ambiance, safety, and cleanliness
- Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to operational staff
- Assist with reservation inquiries over weekends, written and verbal
- Oversee & Host breakfast service
- Perform reception duties including Check-in & check outs and guest concierge services
- Assist with reporting, stock control, and cost management in collaboration with department heads
