We are looking for an experienced despatch clerk to work in an established business in Cape Town and ensure smooth running of stock items in a busy environment. Position is available to start immediately.
Requirements:
Experience as a despatch clerk Knowledge of stock control software and computer literate Excellent communication skills Experience in handling inquiries, complaints, and providing information to ensure excellent customer service Understandinng health and safety requirementsKey responsibilities
Managing and coordinating shipping and receiving procedures, ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed accurately and promptly. Organizing and scheduling shipments and deliveries, using dispatching software or other logistical methods. Communicating with drivers, customers, and vendors to resolve delivery issues or discrepancies. Tracking and monitoring shipment progress, and updating systems and parties involved with any changes or delays. Inspecting incoming and outgoing shipments to verify the quantity and quality of goods, ensuring alignment with order specifications. Working closely with warehouse staff to manage inventory and facilitate the loading and unloading of goods. Maintaining records of all dispatches, invoices, and shipments to ensure effective tracking and documentation. Providing excellent customer service by handling inquiries, complaints, and providing information regarding delivery times and shipping procedures. Ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements in all dispatch operations.
