Description:
Minimum Requirements:- A minimum of 10 years' experience as a Litigation Secretary within a reputable law firm.
- Demonstrated ability to independently draft and prepare court documents for both the High Court and Magistrates Court.
- Solid understanding and working knowledge of court rules and procedures relevant to both court systems.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, predominantly in English but also in Afrikaans.
- Exceptional typing skills with high accuracy and speed.
- Fully bilingual fluent in Afrikaans, with particular proficiency in English (spoken and written).
- High level of computer literacy, particularly in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Experience using LegalSuite or similar legal practice management software is essential.
- Proven ability to:
o Pay meticulous attention to detail.
o Be proactive and take initiative.
o Organise and prioritise workload effectively.
o Work independently and under pressure.
o Efficiently prepare and manage monthly bills of cost.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to one or more litigation attorneys.
- Drafting and formatting legal documents, notices, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Managing and maintaining physical and electronic files.
- Liaising with clients, court officials, sheriffs, and other third parties.
- Ensuring all deadlines and court processes are adhered to.
- Assisting with the preparation of briefs and court bundles.
- Managing attorneys diaries, including court dates and consultations.
- Preparing monthly invoices and following up on payments.
