Remove and refit transmissions. Liaise with customers. Diagnosis of vehicles and liaison of faults to customers Road test vehicle fitted with repaired transmission using approved diagnostic equipment Ensure that quality and customer satisfaction standards are met Qualifications:
Grade 12
Artisan/Trade test qualification
Basic Computing Skills
Experience:
At least 3 years experience in the automotive industry
Experience on BMW/ Land Rover
Job Description:
Remove and refit transmission utilizing the correct tools and equipment Check for ancillary components that might be damaged and report to manager Conduct vehicle diagnosis using prescribed equipment Identify faults outside scope of transmission failure and report to supervisor/customer Conduct road tests to accurately identify the problem and to recommend the necessary action Inform supervisor of problems identified Communicate findings per vehicle to supervisor. Ensure that jobcard file is updated with electronic copy of faults found on vehicle during diagnosis and after repair. Propose plans to supervisor to increase efficiency and utilization in work area. Ensure that all worked is booked per job and reported to supervisor. Rebuilding of transmissions in rebuild section as and when required. Proactively identify customer needs, and opportunities to exceed customer expectations. Liaise with other business units/managers to resolve customer queries. Provide technical support and resolve customer queries Identify and report faults external to parameters of repair to customer Provide technical advice and resolve customer queries Provide customer with the latest information – to ensure that customers are updated on changes at all times Implement quality initiatives to meet identified performance standards Adhere to health and safety standards
