Our client is looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Field Guide to join their elite guiding team at their 5-star game lodge. The ideal candidate will be a knowledgeable and safety-conscious guide who thrives on delivering unforgettable safari experiences while embodying the lodge’s commitment to conservation, education, and world-class guest service. Key Responsibilities:- Conduct immersive and informative game drives and bush walks for local and international guests.
- Share expert knowledge of the wildlife, ecosystems, and conservation ethics of the area.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of all guests during activities.
- Assist with hosting duties, guest relations, and lodge activities as needed.
- Mentor and support junior guides and trackers to uphold the lodge’s guiding standards.
- Conduct pre-drive safety briefings and post-drive guest engagement.
- Assist with vehicle maintenance, equipment care, and reserve monitoring when required.
- FGASA Level 2 or higher (Level 3 advantageous).
- Valid First Aid Certificate.
- Valid PDP and Driver’s License.
- Minimum 3-5 years of guiding experience in a Big 5 reserve, preferably within a luxury lodge environment.
- DEAT/THETA registered.
- Rifle competency (SAPFTC) and ARH certification.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills.
- Professional appearance and guest-focused attitude.
- Passion for conservation, wildlife, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
