PURPOSE OF ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead our Projects Department within the Oil, Gas & Power Division based in Cape Town. This pivotal role is responsible for the successful execution of FEED, EP, EPC, EPCm and Project Financed projects. Working closely with the Managing Executive, you will evaluate, define and manage execution methodologies and project strategies to achieve our division's strategic objectives. You will engage with clients both technically and commercially to understand their needs and develop effective solutions, while supporting project execution teams to deliver excellence.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Lead and manage the Projects Department ensuring delivery of high-quality projects on time and within budget
- Develop and implement project execution strategies tailored to project complexity, geography, and client needs
- Provide technical and commercial oversight across multiple projects simultaneously
- Drive resource planning, mobilization and organizational structure development across divisional projects
- Establish and maintain effective project controls, risk management systems and governance frameworks
- Build and nurture B2B relationships with partners, suppliers, and industry stakeholders
- Support tender processes and business development initiatives within the division
- Contribute to the division's strategic direction as a key member of the management team
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing
- Ensure compliance with management systems and industry regulations
QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/C&I Engineering or equivalent
- Professional registration (ECSA, PMP, Pr. CPM or equivalent)
- MBA with AACSB, EQUIS, or AMBA accreditation (advantageous)
EXPERIENCE
- 10+ years in engineering design and project development
- 15+ years in senior project management and delivery (commercial, contractual and technical)
- Proven track record leading successful project teams in the EPC, EPCm or Project Finance industries
- Experience in program management (advantageous)
- Demonstrated experience in balancing engineering design, project development and project management
