Our client in Bedfordview, Johannesburg, is seeking a skilled and experienced Claims Consultant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in both commercial and personal claims, along with a strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). CIMS experience is advantageous. The successful applicant must be Matric-qualified, RE5 certified (non-negotiable), and FAIS compliant (credits and/or full qualification). Exceptional communication, customer service skills, accountability, and attention to detail are essential. A recent professional profile photo is to accompany your application

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Matric or Equivalent
  • RE5 – NON NEGOTIABLE
  • FAIS compliant (credits and/or full qualification)
  • 3+ years claims experience (commercial and personal)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), CIMS experience is advantageous
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong accountability and attention to detail

DUTIES:

Financial:
  • Ensure appropriate minimization of claims and claims expenses
  • Contribute to the minimization of general expenses

Client:
  • Ensure that all stakeholder communication is accurate, timely, professional, and relevant
  • Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Keep clients informed regarding the progression of their claims
  • Contribute to achieving the required client satisfaction targets

Business Processes:
  • Adhere to company quality standards and broader regulatory frameworks regarding the following processes (but not limited to):

Claims Administration:
  • Receive claims notifications, and send and obtain any relevant forms or documents as required
  • Administer the complete claims process according to defined procedures until claims are settled
  • Appoint assessors or loss assessors
  • Apply policy terms and conditions
  • Keep internal systems and records up to date at all times
  • Keep relevant internal stakeholders informed on the progress of registered claims
  • Assess claims validity, estimate value, and administer mandated claims
  • Forward claims exceeding mandate to insurer
  • Obtain quotes for services
  • Arrange approval and payment for claims costs in line with claims and cover
  • Act as an intermediary between the insurer and client, relaying communication, requests, and documentation promptly
  • Follow the recoveries process, diarize follow-ups, and keep clients informed
  • Ensure productivity targets are met
  • Contribute towards and ensure continuous improvement in individual and team performance
  • Adhere to company mandates
  • Participate and contribute to ad hoc projects
  • Report any suspected fraud, misrepresentation, or dishonesty
  • Keep accurate records of personal activities
