REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 (Matric)

DUTIES:
This role alternates between:
- (a) Inspecting and loading virgin bottles onto the bottling line, ensuring all empty bottles are free of defects and meet required specifications, and
- (b) Examining bottles at the light stations both before and after filling to ensure the finished product meets all quality standards.
Depalletizing:
- Pre-inspects pallets of incoming virgin bottles according to standard procedures to ensure they meet required specifications.
- Carefully packs virgin bottles onto the bottling line conveyor belt, minimizing glass breakages.
- Maintains line efficiency by ensuring the filler unit is consistently supplied with sufficient bottles.
- Records all glass breakages and any bottle defects (non-conformances) in accordance with quality control (QC) requirements.
- Disposes of bottles that do not meet standard specifications, ensuring that the area remains free of broken glass at all times.
Light Station Inspections:
- Light Station 1:
- Checks incoming virgin bottles for defects (e.g., cracks, chips, foreign objects) to ensure they meet specified standards.
- Discards non-conforming bottles in the designated container and maintains cleanliness of the area.
- Light Station 2:
- Inspects filled bottles to ensure correct filling heights and proper application of corks and screw caps.
- Light Station 3:
- Verifies that the correct labels and certification seals are applied to filled bottles, as per the booking sheets.
- Checks label height, seal positioning, seal application, and print quality against standard requirements.
- Re-inspects filled bottles to ensure filling height and closure application are within specification.
Quality Management System:
- Inspects both virgin and filled bottles to ensure overall product quality and immediately reports any non-conformances to the Shift Supervisor.
- Verifies product specifications to prevent production errors, waste, re-runs, and inefficiencies.
- Ensures all quality control procedures are followed, and all required documentation is completed accurately for each production run.
Health, Safety, and Housekeeping:
- Complies with all Health & Safety (H&S) policies and procedures, reporting any unsafe acts immediately.
- Adheres to HACCP principles and participates in annual HACCP training.
- Wears protective clothing as required by policy.
- Ensures all tools and equipment provided by the employer are maintained in a safe and working condition.
- Attends First Aid and Fire Fighting training if and when required.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times, ensuring housekeeping standards are met in all areas of responsibility.

- Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 17:00
