We are looking for a Quality Engineer for our client in Somerset West.Company Overview:Our client is a cutting-edge design and manufacturing company specializing in advanced, lightweight composite products for leading global players in the aircraft interior and aircraft seating industries. Key Responsibilities:- Interpret and apply Aerospace and composite quality standards, ensuring full compliance with customer-specific requirements.
- Review, approve, and maintain precise inspection instructions across all stages (incoming, moulding, in-process, final) to meet client expectations.
- Certify and release components in alignment with regulatory and customer standards.
- Demonstrate adherence to customer requirements using compliance matrices.
- Conduct and document First Article Inspections (FAIs), source inspections, and coordinate customer audits as necessary.
- Lead post-project "lessons learned" sessions to promote continuous improvement.
- Manage internal concession approvals and ensure timely closure.
- Raise and resolve customer concessions efficiently.
- Facilitate and support Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) activities.
Minimum Requirements and Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a recognized institution (Essential).
- Experience working across multiple projects and customer portfolios (Advantageous).
- Global collaboration experience with cross-cultural teams (Advantageous).
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes in aerospace design, certification, and production (Advantageous).
- Proficiency in AS9100D and Part 21G Production Organisation Approval (POA) requirements (Advantageous).
- Strong knowledge of composite design and production techniques (Advantageous).
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and precision measurement techniques (Advantageous).
- Working experience with ERP and quality systems such as SAP and 1Factory or similar (Advantageous).
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments (standing, walking, exposure to noise, dust, and raw materials) (Essential).
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally for supplier and customer engagements (Essential).
