Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Workshop Commercial Technician to join our commercial vehicle maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, and repairing a variety of commercial vehicles in a busy workshop environment. You will work on everything from routine maintenance and inspections to complex mechanical and electrical diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform scheduled maintenance and servicing on commercial vehicles (vans, trucks, etc.).
Diagnose faults using diagnostic tools and techniques.
Conduct repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, and electrical systems.
Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and ensure they meet safety and emissions standards.
Keep accurate service records and complete job cards.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment, complying with health and safety standards.
Liaise with parts departments and service advisors to ensure timely repairs.
Assist with breakdowns or roadside assistance when required.
Requirements:
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (Commercial Vehicles preferred).
Proven experience working with HGVs, LGVs, or commercial vans.
Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
Good understanding of electrical systems and fault-finding.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
