Description:
To provide strategic oversight and direction of the Human Resources department in order to deliver longer term organisational objectives in line with regulatory and legal parameters. The incumbent provides strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the executive management team and board of directors.
Minimum Requirements:
- Masters in Human Resource Management or Business.
- 10 years’ experience in a similar environment.
- 3-5 years’ experience in a senior management position.
- Expert in Corporate Governance.
- Expert in HR Products and Services.
- Expert in HR Strategies and Policies.
Minimum work experience:
- Develop and ensure planning and execution of integrated Human Resources strategies
- Manage communications, internal clients, projects, budgets and resources as necessary for the portfolio.
- Develop the People Strategy and Frameworks which support and build capability across CHG’s workforce.
- Set overall direction for recruitment, retention and succession strategies, organisational effectiveness and training (learning and development), rewards, performance management, employee relations and the management of HR systems and analytics.
- Serve as a strategic business advisor to the executive management team and senior management around key organisation or management issues.
- Act as a key advisor to EXCO and Board on Human Resources related matters.
- Establish a functional performance management framework (annual department plan, roles and responsibilities) to enable annual goal tracking.
- Ensure that all necessary operational accountabilities, policies and systems are defined, implemented and managed.
- Take the lead in mediating between the organisation, employees, stakeholders, shareholders and investors on financial issues for amicable resolution of differences arising.
- Encourage, establish and maintain strategic relationships across multiple functional areas to enable collaboration, knowledge sharing and optimisation of the business value chain.
- Coach subordinate managers to be effective managerial leaders and help them prepare themselves for both short and long-term challenges.
- Oversee budget to control expenditure and ensure the efficient use of resources.
- Develop and implement business measurement metrics to ensure performance is measured against financial goals agreed for the business areas.
- Drive and influence Exco to establish goals, metrics, and priorities for good corporate governance.
