Hire Resolves client is seeking an experienced Clerk of Works to oversee and ensure quality assurance on a major construction project in the Johannesburg area. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, technically skilled, and capable of ensuring that all construction work is carried out to the required standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor construction work to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

  • Conduct regular site inspections and produce detailed reports.

  • Identify and report on poor workmanship, materials, and potential risks.

  • Liaise with contractors, consultants, and project managers on-site issues.

  • Ensure that health and safety standards are maintained on-site.

  • Verify and document completed work for progress claims and sign-offs.

  • Maintain thorough records of inspections, site activities, and deviations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Clerk of Works in the construction sector.

  • Proven experience on large-scale building or infrastructure projects.

  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, quality standards, and health & safety regulations.

  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.

  • Relevant technical qualification (e.g., diploma or certification in construction management, civil engineering, or similar).

  • Own transport and valid driver’s license preferred.
