Description:
The Finance Manager will lead the Finance team and function of a successful, national Electrical wholesaler.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage the finance function including financial accounting and budgetary control.
- Business Unit and Head office reporting (Monthly/year-end)
- Tax / VAT / EMP 201& 501 management
- Foreign transaction / Forward cover / Excon management
- Cash flow planning, Bank management, payment validation
- Oversee large debtor’s department, deal with credit problems
- Integrity of financial systems / data / reports / history
- Motivate and lead the finance team
- Manage projects: Budgets / Insurance values / Internal audits / etc
- Generate a range of monthly finance reports for upstream and downstream communication
Qualifications and Experience:
- Either new CA(SA) or BCom + Articles plus 7 years’ experience
- IT literate (will need to manage a unique bespoke finance system)
- Four (4) years or more experience in Finance department management is deemed advantageous
- Wholesale and distribution (with import/export) experience.
- Ability to engage with all levels of stakeholders, including those with limited accounting knowledge.
- Analytical and commercially minded, able to collect and analyse data and provide insight to improve business performance
This role will suit a hands on Finance Manager that has managed a finance team in a similar environment. Someone who is technically sound as a Finance professional and who is able to communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
