DISTRIBUTION CONTROLLER
Overview: To oversee the accurate and efficient movement of goods in and out of the despatch area, including validating all stock transactions with proper documentation, ensuring optimal housekeeping standards, and monitoring fleet operations to support timely deliveries.
Duties:
Operations:
Allocate picking slips according to daily routes and maintain the picking slip register.
Manage handover and physical labelling of stock and documentation.
Perform accurate daily checks against picking slips.
Ensure timely submission and verification of PODs from drivers.
Coordinate 3rd party collections, deliveries, and related transactions.
Timely and accurate invoicing.
Ensure operations begin timeously with adequate staffing in place.
Maintain CHEP pallet control and count accuracy.
Address and resolve stock queries with relevant departments.
Fleet Control:
Monitor truck movements and driver behaviour via tracking systems.
Conduct daily vehicle checks and manage vehicle servicing and maintenance.
Monitor driver route adherence and loading procedures.
Dispatch vehicles according to schedule and delivery requirements.
Health Safety:
Ensure all employees wear correct PPE and maintain a hazard-free environment.
Uphold housekeeping standards and safety protocols.
Proactively identify and timeously report risks, incidents, and near misses.
Customer Relations:
Maintain a professional, clean appearance and a friendly approach with customers.
Ensure customers are attended to promptly.
Meet customer delivery requirements and manage back orders effectively.
Ad-hoc Duties:
Submit daily and weekly reports within required timeframes.
Participate in stock counts and cycle counting.
Support broader warehouse operations as needed.
Requirements:
Matric Certificate (required).
Tertiary certificate or diploma in logistics/distribution (advantageous).
57 years experience in Distribution and/or Logistics.
Experience in a global multinational environment (advantageous).
Remuneration:
