Job Title: Senior BookkeepersLocation: Sandton, Johannesburg
Job Type: Full-Time
Hire Resolve's Client are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeepers to join their dynamic team in Sandton. The ideal candidates will have a strong accounting background, excellent organizational skills, and experience working in a firm environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare and process journal entries and monthly reconciliations
- Manage payroll and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
- Prepare VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns
- Support with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Assist with budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and financial analysis
- Supervise junior staff and provide guidance where necessary
- Ensure deadlines are met and deliverables are completed accurately and on time
Minimum Requirements:
- BCOM degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (essential)
- At least 3 years of bookkeeping experience within an accounting firm (essential)
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
- Strong Excel skills
- In-depth knowledge of bookkeeping principles and accounting procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience in supervising or mentoring junior staff
- Exposure to multiple client accounts
- Working knowledge of tax regulations and compliance
