A growing fintech company based in Johannesburg is looking for an Financial Accountant to support its expanding finance function. Focused on driving innovation in financial services for under-served markets, the business combines technology and impact in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on and wants exposure to the full accounting cycle in a dynamic setting. Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and review monthly management accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Maintain general ledger and perform reconciliations across key accounts.
- Assist with statutory compliance, including VAT and tax submissions.
- Support year-end audit preparations and liaise with external auditors.
- Work closely with senior finance and operations to improve processes and financial reporting.
- Contribute to financial modelling and forecasting activities as needed.
- BCom in Accounting or related field (essential).
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in a financial accounting role.
- Experience in a fintech or start-up environment is advantageous.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and manage multiple priorities.
