Key skills required:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar role
Knowledge of payroll software and systems (Sage advantageous)
Strong understanding of payroll, tax regulations, and labour laws
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve discrepancies
Duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Monthly preparation of payroll import files (calculate over time, bonuses, and deductions accurately)
Ensure timely and accurate payment of employee salaries
Ensure payroll is in compliance with local tax laws and regulations
Preparing and filing of payroll related taxes
Generate and review payroll reports for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
Provide payroll-related information to the Finance department for budgeting and forecasting
Address employee inquiries related to payroll, including salary discrepancies, deductions, and benefits.
Assist with the on-boarding and off-boarding process to ensure that payroll records are up to date for new hires and terminated employees
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
University Undergraduate Degree with a finance focus
Honours Degree advantageous
Work experience advantageous
Strong academic track record required
