As a Financial Modelling Specialist , you’ll play a pivotal role in developing, enhancing, and maintaining robust financial models used for both short-term budgeting and long-term planning (including life-of-mine forecasts). You'll work closely with operational and executive teams to translate financial data into strategic insights that shape the future of the business.Your Core Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain comprehensive financial models for operational and strategic planning.
- Perform detailed analysis on budgets, forecasts, and income statements .
- Collaborate with operational teams on benchmarking, process analysis, and performance optimization.
- Deliver actionable insights to improve cost efficiency and risk management .
- Support investment decisions and infrastructure financing through sophisticated financial modelling.
- Present financial performance reports to key stakeholders including investors, financiers, and regulatory bodies.
- Assist in new business development and tender processes .
- Ensure compliance with industry, financial, and regulatory standards.
What You’ll Bring:
Must-Haves:- BSc Degree in Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- At least 7 years’ experience in financial modelling within the mining or infrastructure sectors .
- Deep knowledge of forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting .
- Solid grasp of financial regulations, taxation , and accounting principles .
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel , financial modelling software, and PowerPoint.
- BBusSc or BCom in Financial Mathematics, Accounting, or Statistics.
- Project or infrastructure finance experience.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A detail-oriented, independent work style with a problem-solving mindset.
- Experience managing teams or mentoring others is a plus.
