Our client is looking for a highly skilled and driven Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist to join their team on-site in Edenvale.Are you a data-driven problem solver with a passion for innovation and technical excellence? - Assist in developing technical BI standards and strategies.
- Mentor and guide intermediate and junior BI developers and business users.
- Lead full BI project life cycles: from issue analysis and solution design to development, testing, and implementation.
- Design and build dashboards, reports, and data visualizations for stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Utilise the Microsoft BI stack (SSRS, SSAS, SQL, Power BI) and related tools (R, Python, MS Power Tools).
- Drive innovation with Power Platform, machine learning, and generative AI technologies.
- Conduct data quality assessments and ensure BI best practices.
- Support end-users and technical teams, including training and documentation.
- Stay up to date with BI tools, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
- Work on multiple assignments concurrently under tight deadlines.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 (NQF equivalent)
- Bachelor of Science in Mathematics / Statistics or related field
- MS BI Certification & Data Analytics Certification
- Advanced SQL query writing skills
- Proven experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Virtual Agents)
- Experience in data analysis, mining, and advanced Excel
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to work independently in a dynamic environment
Advantageous Experience
- R and Python scripting
- DAX script writing
- Financial reporting experience
- Power BI solution development
- BI cloud development (data lakes, visualisations)
- SSIS or other ETL tools
- C# intermediate experience
- Data warehousing concepts
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript
