We are on the lookout for a skilled and experienced Final Assembly Production Manager to lead the assembly, production, and technical quality of boats and marine equipment. In this exciting role, you’ll oversee the entire final assembly process, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. You’ll work in a dynamic environment, split between the office, manufacturing floor, and boatyard. There will also be occasional travel to suppliers, clients, or trade shows, and exposure to outdoor conditions and marine environments. Requirements
Diploma in Project, Production, or Operations Management
Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering background is a plus
5+ years’ experience in boat manufacturing or a similar industry
Strong knowledge of boat construction, materials, and systems
Familiarity with CAD software, production scheduling tools, and quality control systems
Proven leadership and team management skills
Solid problem-solving, organizational, and communication abilities
Knowledge of marine safety and environmental regulations
Project Management Certification (e.g. PMP)
Experience with lean manufacturing principles
Hands-on experience with fiberglass, aluminum, or composite boat building
Understanding of marine industry supply chain and logistics
Duties
Schedule, manage, and oversee boat final assembly, testing, and commissioning
Develop efficient production processes to meet quality, cost, and time objectives
Ensure timely completion of production schedules
Ensure compliance with marine safety and regulatory standards (e.g., ABYC, ISO, CE)
Resolve technical and manufacturing issues, collaborating with engineering teams
Work with design teams to optimize manufacturability
Lead, mentor, and manage production staff, ensuring proper training
Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
Coordinate with procurement, quality control, and sales teams
Enhance quality control systems and procedures
Conduct regular inspections to ensure product quality
Address customer feedback related to production
Manage production schedules and budgets efficiently
Oversee material and equipment procurement
Implement cost-saving measure
