Experience:
The successful incumbent must have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a Contract Manager on infrastructure or road projects at a value of at least R500 million. Formal qualifications:
A bachelors degree in engineering (civil or structural), construction management, building studies, quantity surveying or a related field is preferred High proficiency in Microsoft Projects Valid driving license code 08 Registration with SACPCMP as PrCM or ECSA as PrEng/PrTechEng Own transport
Responsibilities:
The contract manager will be responsible for commercial and contractual work.

Contract specific tasks
Ensuring compliance with the terms and conditions of the contract Conducting risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential contractual risks Negotiate contract terms with subcontractors and suppliers to optimize project outcome Overseeing all contract administration activities Planning
Developing and maintaining a Contract Management Plan to guide project execution Managing claims for variations, extension of time and additional costs in accordance with contractual requirements Developing and presenting project proposals Producing plans and estimating budgets and timescales Managing construction schedules and budgets Handling any unexpected costs and planning for unforeseen circumstances Developing plans regarding the work schedule Collecting data for forecasting and planning purposes Client relations and liaison
Discussing, drafting, reviewing and negotiating the terms of business contracts Liaise with project stakeholders, including clients, consultants and subcontractors to address contractual matters Handling and managing client expectations Agreeing on budgets and timescales with various stakeholders Attending site meetings to monitor progress Acting as the main point of contact for clients, site and project managers Provide regular updates on contract performance to project management and other stakeholders Working with third parties to ensure that everyone understands their roles and responsibilities Liaising with technical and financial staff, sub-contractors, legal teams and the clients own representatives Building and maintaining good relationships with clients and suppliers Liaising with external stakeholders to document all activities Compiling and making of presentations to clients and suppliers Quality and regulation compliance
