Requirements:
Proven work experience as a Food Safety and Quality Manager in the Food Industry. Experience in implementing and maintaining FSSC 22000, AIB, and HACCP standards is essential, and ISO 9001 is advantageous. Health & Safety / OHSA training advantageous. BSc/MSc Food Science OR BTech/MTech Food Technology Expertise in quality management procedures, systems, and best practices Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives. Minimum of 3 years work experience at management level Leadership skills and ability to manage staff. Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. Implement, maintain, and improve the Food Safety and quality Management system and ensure continued business compliance with it and its certification against required certification standards. Manage effective daily quality assurance processes to ensure high-quality products are continuously supplied to customers. Food safety and quality management are in place and maintained. Legal and customer-required certified food safety and quality management systems must be in place and maintained, i.e., AIB, GFSI, FSSC22000, SANS 10049, SANS 10330, and ISO9001. Manage and maintain the food safety and quality management systems and ensure business compliance with the system. Manage various divisions in a complex manufacturing process. Manage external audits and compliance to external audit/certification standards. Control of documentation and communication of the food safety and quality management system and system updates/changes. Training and awareness on the food safety and quality management system. Manage and maintain daily quality assurance processes to be implemented to ensure final product quality. Manage the activities and effectiveness of the support cleaning and sanitation team. Manage the raw material and supplier approval process to ensure food safety and control the quality of raw materials.
