We’re seeking an experienced and dynamic National Procurement Manager to join our team in a permanent capacity. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic thinker with a strong background in procurement, supplier management, and process optimisation to make a long-term impact in a growing business. Key Responsibilities:- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies and regulatory requirements. Support internal and external audits.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with finance, legal, and operations teams to align procurement strategy with business objectives.
- Performance & Continuous Improvement: Monitor procurement KPIs, leverage analytics for insight, and drive efficiency and value across the function.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the procurement team, set clear performance targets, and cultivate a high-performance culture.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement forward-looking procurement strategies, policies, and best practices.
- Supplier Management: Source, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships, with a focus on cost-effectiveness, service quality, and B-BBEE compliance.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee procurement processes and workflow optimisation; lead process automation initiatives.
- Cost Management & Budgeting: Develop and manage procurement budgets; implement cost-saving measures and negotiate competitive contracts.
- Special Projects: Support ad hoc business analyses and strategic initiatives as required.
Requirements:
- A degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field (NQF Level 7).
- 7–10 years’ experience in senior procurement roles, with at least 5 years in a management capacity.
- Experience in international logistics or freight forwarding (advantageous).
- Proficiency in tools including Shipshape , Cargowise , SAP , Power BI , and Microsoft Excel .
- Strong knowledge of internal controls and continuous process improvement.
