Our client, a prestigious wine estate in Stellenbosch, is seeking a Facilities Manager to ensure that the estate’s buildings, facilities, and outdoor areas are well-maintained and fully functional. This hands-on role is ideal for someone practical and organised.
Duties will include (but not be limited to) : *Ensuring all facilities, buildings, and outdoor areas are well-kept and in working order *Performing basic electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance work *Identifying maintenance issues and coordinating with suppliers and contractors for repairs *Overseeing general upkeep of the estate, including venue spaces, gardens, and pathways *Monitoring and maintaining stock of maintenance supplies and equipment *Assisting in setting up for events and ensuring the venue is always presentable *Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations *Responding to urgent maintenance requests and resolve minor issues efficiently *Keeping records of maintenance tasks and scheduled services *all other tasks related to this position.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
• Proven experience in basic maintenance and facilities management;
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations;
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills;
• Physically fit to handle tasks that involve lifting, bending, and working at heights.
