Description:
- Hire Resolve's Client is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their expanding team in Gauteng.
Responsibilities:
1. Cost Estimation & Budgeting
-
Analyze project plans, specifications, and blueprints to determine the materials, labor, and equipment required.

Calculate detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, subcontractors, and overhead.
-
Prepare preliminary, conceptual, and final estimates for different project phases.
2. Tendering & Bidding
-
Prepare and submit bids for construction projects.
-
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure competitive pricing.
-
Assess risk factors and include contingencies in the estimate.
3. Vendor & Supplier Coordination
-
Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services.
-
Negotiate with vendors to get the best pricing and terms.
-
Maintain relationships with suppliers for future projects.
4. Site Visits & Data Collection
-
Visit project sites to assess conditions that may impact costs (e.g., access, terrain, existing structures).
-
Gather data on site logistics, materials availability, and labor market conditions.
5. Compliance & Documentation
-
Ensure cost estimates comply with industry regulations and safety standards.
-
Prepare detailed reports and maintain records for auditing and project tracking.
6. Value Engineering & Cost Control
-
Suggest cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality.
-
Assist in monitoring project costs and controlling expenses to stay within budget.
7. Collaboration & Communication
-
Work with architects, engineers, and project managers to refine project scope and cost estimates.

Present cost breakdowns and justifications to clients, stakeholders, and upper management.
Requirements:

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, such as:

Construction Management
-
Civil Engineering
-
Quantity Surveying
-
Architecture
-

Certifications in estimating, such as:
-
Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) – American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE)
-
Certified Cost Professional (CCP) – AACE International
-
RICS Chartered Quantity Surveyor – Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (for quantity surveying)
