Description:
Head of Procurement
The incumbent will be reporting to the Managing Director.
The main scope for this position is to Manage the companys procurement department to ensure that the right product /stock, at the right time, and at the right price is at all Branches at all times.
The key tasks & responsibilities for this position are:
People Management
Training and Development of all buying staff Monitor staff discipline and adherence to Company policies and procedures Conduct Disciplinary Hearings Recruit, select and induct new staff members Manage the procurement team to ensure effective delivery of procurement plans Motivate and guide procurement staff to achieve set targets Set bi-annual and monthly performance targets for the procurement department Monitor, guide and train procurement staff to ensure action plans or improvements areimplemented
Procurement:
Manage and strengthen the companys strategic procurement plan and execute strategicpartnerships with stakeholders in collaboration with the General Managers, Regional
Branch Managers and sales teams.
Analyse stock trends i.e. variances, stock adjustment reports, sales trends, new suppliersand new product
Evaluate supplier performance and implement improvements or changes as necessary Analyse stock turnover using best practice measurements Suggest import stock for the branches at the right price and time to the General Managers, Regional Branch Managers and Managing Director Manage the companys procurement process for effective stock holding Adherence to the stock availability targets on fast moving items Resolve stock shortage issues with a customer centric focus Ensure compliance with ISO, BBBEE and other accreditation standards as well as legislative compliance Assist the B-BBEE, internal and external auditors as required. Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards and ensuring timely deliveryStock Management
Manage stock process to ensure accurate stock holding procedures are being adhered to Manage old and aged stock according to the company strategy Manage the branch stock levels effectively and accurately Manage and control the stock levels and analysis of sales/product trends in the various branches Adherence to targeted company stock values and goals and targets Manage and control excess stock on an ongoing basis, in collaboration with General Manager and Regional Branch Manager Drive target purchase prices from suppliers by continuously driving the price efficiency for the company
