Job Title: Compliance & HR Consultant (UK Education Sector)
Location: Remote (South Africa-based candidates only)
Salary: R25,000 per month
Working Hours: Full-time, 9:30 AM 5:30 PM (UK Time)

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Compliance & HR Consultant to join our dynamic and growing team. This is a remote position suited to professionals based in South Africa who have a background in UK education recruitment compliance.
Approximately 90% of the role will focus on compliance and candidate onboarding. The remaining 10% will involve supporting internal HR functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Compliance & Vetting (90%)
- Manage the end-to-end candidate compliance and vetting process.
- Conduct Enhanced DBS checks (Disclosure & Barring Service).
- Perform right to work, identity, qualification, reference, and overseas police checks (where required).
- Maintain up-to-date, accurate candidate files in line with UK statutory and safeguarding requirements.
- Liaise with candidates to collect outstanding documentation and ensure smooth onboarding.
- Perform regular audits of candidate files to maintain compliance standards.
- Keep compliance systems, trackers, and records updated and accurate.
- HR Support (10%)
- Assist with onboarding new internal staff members.
- Maintain HR records, contracts, and policy documents.
- Support the leadership team with employee documentation and general HR administration.
- Stay informed on employment legislation and safeguarding policies relevant to UK education recruitment.
Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience in a compliance or safeguarding role within the UK education recruitment sector.
- In-depth understanding of DBS processes and UK safeguarding legislation.
- Familiarity with vetting requirements for education staffing agencies.
- High level of organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with a proactive approach to managing candidates.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- Comfortable working with CRM systems, compliance platforms, and digital documentation tools.
Desirable
- HR qualification or relevant HR experience.
- Previous experience in a dual compliance/HR role within UK recruitment.
- Knowledge of education staffing industry best practices.
